You know when someone says 'I STARTED THAT!' when a new trend comes around. Like Peter Crouch and the robot? Your mate at school and the robot? Or was it your Dad and the robot? WHO BLOODY STARTED THE ROBOT?
I don't think we'll ever know. Cracking dance though.

Anyway my point is, I actually started the gingham trend. FACT.
You heard it here first guys. But before you read how it all began, CHECK OUT how I styled my gingham...
Black Flare Sleeve Tunic - Zara
Gingham Skirt - Fashion Union
Blue Velvet Boots - eBay
Bag - eBay
Fur Stole - Charity Shop (Similar)
So, It all began long ago when I was a wee bairn... I vividly remember my bedsheets and curtains were pink gingham and I loved em to pieces. Nothing better to a little girl than her pink bedroom, with all the trimmings.
This must have stuck with me so much so, because I saw they did a set in Ikea a few years back and I had to have them (despite them being SO EXPENSIVE, bedsheets wth?) and still to this day I put them on. I'm sure you may have seen them on my Instagram? (If you aren't following me then be a lamb and click here)
Of course the plot thickens, I didn’t stop there. Whilst on one of my many charity shop scavenges, I only went and found a pair of high waisted, (also pink) GINGHAM trousers. Which I have actually posted before (throwback! here) and will probably be posting again due to the recent influx in the checkered trend.
I mean, if you haven't been seen in the pattern recently, then WHAT ARE YOU DOING? I’ve seen a multitude of ruffles, frills and deconstructed items floating around and quite frankly, I WANT IN. I couldn't pass up the opportunity to share with the world my one true love after all!
I eventually decided on two skirts. The first being one that was a little different, slightly out of my comfort zone and I had big plans for it. However it just looked absolutely TRAGIC on me. Return to sender plz.
Luckily, Einstein over here had a back up plan. The wrap skirt. In my opinion its such a flattering style, you can actually tell you are wearing a skirt, not a picnic blanket and to be honest I just wasn’t sure all the extra bits were really me.
So here I am in all my gingham glory, forever feeling like a little girl in the print, purely because of some bed (and window?) linen. Funny how little things in our childhood stay with us! Something will just pop up in a charity shop, catch your eye and end up in your wardrobe.
Next thing you know, everyones gone and copied you. Well I can't say I blame you all.
Imitation is the highest form of flattery after all.
