Know Your Self Worth

Yes we are still on this selfish topic. It’s important. I have a lot to say okay! 

I just got in from the cinema with my BFF. We went to see Girls Trip. Bloody hilarious btw, probably the funniest film I’ve ever seen. 

Ofc like every chick flick, it has its typical GIRL POWER ‘message’ and SPOILER ALERT the female lead overcomes the asshole man. 

Now I’m not gonna sit here and type a hate fuelled, "FUCK MEN", essay because that would be against the point. This applies to you lads too, everyone in fact. 

What I’m trying to say is that we should know our own value.

When it comes to relationships, you shouldn't just enter one because you are lonely.  

You shouldn’t settle for someone because it seems like they are the only person who will ever like you.

You shouldn’t stay with someone because you have been with for so long

You should be proud to be independent.

You should be with someone YOU like.

Yeah its easy for me to just sit here and say all this. Hell I don't know what I’m talking about, I’ve been single for a solid 23 years. No relationships over here. 

Meanwhile, everyone says to me, ‘oh thats good that you know what you want!’ 

Now thinking about it, its not a case of knowing what I want, its just a case of knowing what I’m worth. 

I mean, don’t get me wrong I’ve kissed my fair share of frogs, and probably still have a good line of toads waiting too. Life isn’t a fairy tale and prince charming is never coming to rescue me. 

Maybe I should just bloody well rescue myself.  

I know I’m not perfect, I’ve got one boob significantly bigger than the other and sometimes I can burp so loud, it echoes... (SOZ, OVERSHARING.) 

But I know I shouldn't settle and neither should you. 

Everyone deserves to be happy and loved. 

This doesn't just apply to relationships and love. The same can be said for work, friends, and everything else.  

Sit back, evaluate and know your worth. 

YOU ARE BLOODY FABULOUS. 

P.s. most of you will read this and agree with me, you've probably given hundreds of pep talks to your gals when they are struggling. But what I realised, is that we need to start listening to our own advice.
