"You want thingumabobs? I got 20. But who cares..? No big deal... I WANT MOOOOORE."
- The Little Mermaid.
Now Ariel and I have a lot in common, big red (ish) hair, a love for being underwater and gadgets and gizmo's a plenty.
I have a lot of clothes. Too much for my current wardrobe storage situation, but why do I always want more?
I see many bloggers and influencers talk about capsule collections and I probably could throw many things out and stick to a selection of garments. However I just don't want to.
Is it greediness? Am I a sucker for marketing? YES AND YES.
I don’t think I’m a hoarder, yet. I do however have 0 space to put anything, my wardrobe situation is pretty dire due to my bedroom being a loft conversion. (Honestly the amount I hit my head on the ceiling is a joke)
So, I think the idea of a capsule wardrobe is great and I strongly agree that every wardrobe should have those staple items. Black jeans, blue jeans, white shirt, black trousers, etc. My problem is I want 5 pairs of black jeans, skinny, straight, mom, boyfriend, ripped and MORE.
The only thing I can get on board with, is this minimalism trend. I love clean cut outfits with no fuss and no muss, smart tailoring with simple one dimensional accessorising.
Then, the next day you’ll find me clashing my rainbow stripes with leopard print and wearing all the colours under the sun. Now I’m not as brave as the girls from Confetti Crowd (LOVE THEIR STYLE) or can pull off so many colours as well as Megan Ellaby, (SUCH A BABE) but I think what I’m trying to say is I’m a fan of both less and more.
I would say this outfit today falls into that minimal clean cut style, a simple but elegant white blouse, grey peg trousers and black mules with a small gold hoop, THEN BAM. I throw on my cosy, extra and large af, BEAUTIFUL yellow cardi. A little bit of each.
Less is more.
More is more.
The only thing I do stick by - and I cannot for the life of me remember where I picked it up from - is “always take off the last thing you put on.” - I get a bit accessory happy and have to remember that if I’m having a gold jewellery day, not every piece needs to go on...
Mr T chic is not a good look.
Anyway lovelies, I hope you like my outfit and I hope you understood what I was getting at in my rambling.
Let me know what you think! Less or more? Which are you?
LOVE YOU AS MUCH AS I LOVE MY CARDIGAN.
